Request Data Deletion (Without Deleting Account)

OldNock (oldnock.com and the OldNock mobile app) lets you request deletion of specific data while keeping your account. You can choose to delete some or all of your data without closing your OldNock account.


How to Request Data Deletion

Option 1: In the App (Recommended)

  1. Open the OldNock app.
  2. Go to SettingsPrivacy or Data & Privacy.
  3. Tap Manage My Data or Request Data Deletion.
  4. Select which data you want deleted (e.g. messages, profile photo, addresses).
  5. Confirm your request.

Option 2: By Email

  1. Send an email to privacy@oldnock.com from the email address linked to your OldNock account.
  2. Use the subject line: Data Deletion Request.
  3. Include in your message:
    • Your full name and email address (as registered).
    • Which data you want deleted (see table below).
    • A clear list of the types of data (e.g. “Delete my chat history”, “Delete my profile photo”, “Delete my saved addresses”).

Option 3: Via Support

Contact our support team with the same information above. We will verify your identity and process your request.

Response time: We aim to process data deletion requests within 30 days of verification.


Data You Can Request to Delete (Without Deleting Account)

Profile photo Yes Your account remains; profile photo removed
Username / display name Yes You can change this in Settings; old value removed
Phone number Yes Removed from your profile
Saved addresses Yes All or specific addresses; required again for future orders
Product listings Yes Per listing or all; your account stays active
Messages and chat history Yes All chats or specific conversations
Offers and negotiation history Yes Past offers can be removed
Wishlist / favorites Yes List cleared
Device tokens (push) Yes Stops push notifications until you re-register
Location data Yes If we stored location; we typically only use it to get an address at the time of request

Data We Cannot Delete on Request (While Account Exists)

Account credentials Required to keep your account
Email address Required for login and account recovery
Order and payment history Legal, tax, and dispute resolution (retained up to 7 years)
Transaction records Financial regulations
Content in reports or moderation Safety and legal obligations

Retention Period

  • Requested deletions: Processed within 30 days of verification.
  • Backups: Copies may remain in backups for up to 90 days before being overwritten.
  • Order/payment records: Retained up to 7 years as required by law, even if you request deletion of other data.
  • Anonymized analytics: May be kept indefinitely; cannot be used to identify you.

After Partial Data Deletion

  • Your OldNock account remains active.
  • You may need to re-enter some information (e.g. address) for future orders.
  • You can continue buying and selling on OldNock.
  • To delete your entire account and all data, use our Delete Account page.
